Job Title Engineer - Flight Controls/Fly-by-Wire Group, Advanced Aircraft Programs - Tech Spec IJob ID Number 27077Company GulfstreamLocation Savannah, GAJob Category EngineeringJob Description Position Purpose:Assists with the planning, coordination, performance of design, analysis and liaison engineering supporting the development and production of Gulfstream products and servicesPrincipal Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:1) Contributes to planning, developing and coordinating of important engineering projects2) Provides specialized technical assistance to team members3) Uses advanced techniques and modified extension of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems4) Determines and develops own approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives5) Works under limited supervision; work should only be required to be reviewed for accuracy and consistency with meeting overall objectives6) Acts as liaison with representatives outside of the assigned group/areaAdditional Functions:1) Actively works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements2) Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product3) Performs other duties as assignedOther Requirements:1) Advanced degree in engineering related field preferred2) The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each disciplineUnique Skills:- Designs and integrates components and systems within the Advanced Programs, Flight Controls (Fly-by-Wire) Group to define design, performance, reliability and safety. - Understands Flight Controls/Fly-by-Wire Systems including Primary Flight Controls and Actuation (Ailerons, Elevator, Rudder) including associated Hydraulic requirements and interfaces.- Additional experience in Secondary Flight Controls/Fly-by-wire: Flaps, Spoilers, Horizontal Stab, is considered an asset. - Applies company standards, procedures and processes.
